Innovative “Bank Charging”

A common challenge for EV owners is encountering older 400-volt charging stations. Porsche solved this with Bank Charging. When connected to a 400-volt station, high-voltage switches effectively “split” the 800-volt battery into two 400-volt batteries. These are then charged in parallel at up to 135 kW, significantly reducing the time spent at older infrastructure without requiring an expensive, heavy on-board booster.
